Simple and easy to use! I was wondering how this thing actually worked, but for the cost I figured I’d give it a try. Looking at it on Amazon, I guessed that their would be some sort of O-ring seal inside the unit. Turns out that it’s supplied with a little piece of foam, roughly 1/8″ thick, and slotted to look like an outlet in your house. NOT watertight This works great to hold two plugs together, but it is NOT waterproof. I have two extension cords going to the engine block heater on my tractor. They need to be left out all winter, so I bought this to keep the plugs from separating and to keep the connection from getting wet. It does a great job of holding the plugs together, and I had no problem with the connection shorting out, so it does accomplish that purpose, but it does not keep water out. NOT Water-tight and Too Small The manufacturer should NOT advertise this as being water tight. It’s simply not. Just look at the design and it’s readily apparent that it will NEVER be water tight. And a second issue: its diameter. I wanted to connect with a 16/3 outdoor extension cord. The unit isn’t large enough to accommodate the cord plugs.
