Works in full sun only (not shade or cloudy day). 1. Pump must be immersed in water with full sun to solar panel to function. Peeling off the plastic film protector on the surface will make the panel to work better.

3. Do not keep the pump running without water.

Small pump that works very well and looks great! We love it! I really like this little pump! It makes my bird bath look amazing! It started right up when I took it out in the sun so I had to rush to get it in the bird bath and fill it so that I didn’t run the pump dry. I was surprised since I figured it would take a while to charge before operating. It has 3 little suction cups on the bottom and it stuck to my bird bath at first. It has since floated to the top. I’m guessing this was because the water was too deep and the solar panel is buoyant. Not sure…
