Very cute whistle, but harder for younger children to use… This whistle is darling, and my 17-month old son went crazy as soon as he saw it. Unfortunately, the design is such that the “whistle hole” is very close to the mouthpiece tip, so it takes some careful mouth positioning in order to make the whistle work. My son became immediately frustrated after trying several times to blow into it without success for this reason. We’ll love it when he’s a bit older and figures out how to keep his lips closer to the tip. Very cute though, and works great!
Cute bathtime fun I agree with most of these reviews: this is a fun bathtime toy that really sounds like a bird. Both my daughters like it (one more than the other). My daughters are almost four and needed no instruction on how to use these whistles except to be told that they needed water in the bird’s middle to work best. Yes, the blowhole is a little easy to cover up and so younger kids might need a bit of help. They seem relatively sturdy: they’re plastic and should hold up fine with normal use, but…
Good bird whistle This whistle is cool…. it really does sound like a bird! It is made of very sturdy plastic and has nice bold colors. The spout is a little short as other reviewers have mentioned but once my kids learned not to cover the hole while blowing it was fine. My only complaint is that it is pricey for a toy whistle! Yes, it is much better quality than the cheapo plastic ones that cost ~$1 but it is just a whistle, after all. It can only entertain my kids for a few minutes at most.
