No Electric outlet or battery needed. This product floats on the water and starts pumping water soon after bright sunlight shines directly on the solar cells. It is a an energy-saving solar fountain suitable for garden decoration, bird bath, small pond, water circulation for oxygen. Installation is simple, easy to use, as long as there is direct sunlight on the solar cells without shadows, water pump will start working in a few seconds. *Kindly note that the bird bath is just an example of how it would work with our solar pump. Bird bath is not included. *Instructions for Additional Accessories: Included are a 2″ suction cup and fishing line to help stabilize the pump in smooth bottom birdbath. Simply use the fishing line to tie a loop on the suction cup and put the loop over the spout of the pump to keep it in place. Please see the last photo for your reference. If your birdbath does not have a smooth bottom, you may have to pile some pebbles around it. Every birdbath is different, our customer can always call Solarrific ? for recommendations. Please note that this product is assembled by hand. Before assembly, we put a protective film on the solar panel, so that there may be scratches on the film and the solar panel. The scratches will not affect the performance of this product. Unlike most other solar garden products, the material on their solar panel becomes white or cloudy within a year. To prevent this problem, we put a special material on our solar panel although not scratch resistant but it will last up to 3 to 4 year. second review My first review ripped this product, but… I actually got a call from Solarrific to follow up. They sent me a new fountain without getting $$ first! The new fountain worked perfectly. In fact, altho they say it only works in full sunlight, it also worked on overcast rainy days. OK, it just spurts a bit then but that is more than any past solar fountains have. They really stand behind their product so I have changed my rating.
Nice Quiet Fountain, works for me. I have a deep basin birdbath and I was looking for a fountain that would not have wires running over the edge. There are a couple of different solar fountains on Amazon. I picked this one because of the reviews.
solar fountain delivers water as promised This solar fountain has a mini-pump that is powered by a small pv collector. It is a nice feature that the cord between the pump and the collector has weather tight connector mid-cord allowing one to connect/disconnect for installation. The pump will lift a small amount(sufficient for a splash/drip/trickle sound effect) of water about 18 inches. The system has been pumping flawlessly for about a month. I am happy with my purchase.
