  1. Perfection at the Price! For a decade now, I have been accustomed to top of the line vortex binoculars ( $900) and Kowa 80mm ( $2000) and loved them both with zero complaints on every level.. I also recently bought this 8×42 diamondback and the new 2016 10×42 diamondback to try out face to face… First let me say that I like the old design 8×42 very much for the money ( you can find this for $134 to $180)… But , The new 2016 Vortex 10×42 diamondback at ( $229 is just fantastic for that extra $50 to $70) .. great…

When I called Vortex I made it clear…

These have a fair amount of purple fringing and the sharpness is not quite as good as the Bushnell Legend L and M series in 10×42; I would actually stick with the Bushnell Legend’s and skip the idea of a 12x bino. The truth is that I have not found a good pair of 12x binos. The Celestron 12×60 are dark and have poor optics. The Celestron 15×70’s are slightly better but also have purple fringing and are not super sharp. The Nikon…
