  1. Handy guide to hike with. Handy little guide to have around. Small size makes it perfect for carrying if you are hiking and space/weight is an issue. The color photos are nice and from what I have seen are pretty representative of species you would encounter. The bark photos have some variance, so they can be a bit tough to nail down with some trees, but the leaves should get you in the ballpark.Covers all the common trees you would run into in PA as well as most if not all of the uncommon species.

  2. Good pocket companion! I wanted a small portable book for taking on my walks and this is perfect, do not expect an exhaustive treatise. This covers the most common trees of my state but sure includes a lot of species. The photos are very good, nice and clear. The front of the book has a key to help you sort out where to start searching in the book.

  3. Good resource for selecting trees A nice little book. The pictures are clear, and the info is easy to understand. I had several trees cut down recently, and this book will be used to help me select replacements.
