Happy goldfinches! Bought this to replace a metal finch feeder that was continually commandeered by English sparrows – an invasive species that invades the nests of native songbirds, killing their young – something I do not want to feed.
Best Sock Feeder Goldfinches love these nyjer feeders better than any other thistle sock I’ve tried. The only drawback is their longevity…once the house finches and house sparrows find them they rip them up fast. But I just replace them because in addition to finches we get redpolls and siskins too. For whatever reason, Wild Delight socks are very popular.
expired product When I received this the “sell by” sticker on the package had a date 3 months prior. Are they using internet buyers to get rid of stock they couldn’t sell in a store? I’m sure the birds will still eat it – but it makes me wonder about this vendor.
