The bottom also removes easily with 2 compression balls to clean out any old seed or what ever. Only thing that could make this better is a wire cage around it to slow down the squirrels. This is a quality feeder I am very satisfied with this feeder. The top and bottom are metal as well as the feeder ports. It has held up well in a coastal setting.
