Classic nyjer thistle socks are woven from heavy nylon material. They include a ultraviolet stabilizer to reduce sun fading. The classic nyjer sock comes with a draw string and retainer. Yellow in color and can hold up to 3 pounds of nyjer thistle seed. It measures 23 inches long by 4 inches wide. Helpful tips include hanging in an open area. Hang close to existing feeders until birds discover stocking. Replace unused thistle every 4 to 6 weeks. The seed may stick together after heavy rain, to loosen, roll stocking back and forth between hands.

Sturdy, durable, effective Note: “4” is my highest rating (how can you ever know when a “5” will come along?) I’ve been using these types of socks as feeders for a while. Not good for gold finches This is a long feeder which holds lots of seed so many birds can eat at once. I thought the yellow color would look better than white as it wouldnât look as dirty. However I use it for lesser gold finches and one cannot appreciate the yellow breasted males against the yellow netting.
Birds love it! Does what its supposed to do and the birds love it.
