It works great and goes back to level when bumped You guys don’t know me, but I am cheap. When I bought the feeder (Miller 12lb galvanized feeder) I considered getting the lid as well. After seeing the price, I said there was no way in heck I was going to pay 8 dollars for some pressed metal. I have moved the feeder to different locations and the chickens would still find a way to poop in it. I made my own lid out of an ice cream bucket lid. It worked so so but would not stay level if the chickens bumped it. Getting tired of cleaning poop out…
Limited practicality This works for keeping light rain out (if you use it outdoors), and keeps the chickens from roosting on top. However, it sits so far above the top that the chickens seem to have no trouble kicking shavings and bedding in it, even though we had it hanging off the floor (inside the coop). The way it attaches to the feeder, is you have to thread your chain or whatever hanging device you are using through a very small hole, then attach it to the handle on the feeder itself. Cover for feeder No instructions on how to put this cover on feeder. This cover was advertise as a buy with feeder that I purchased but does not match handle type on the feeder to put it on. Please let me know how to use it or I will have to return it
