Nice for roosting, not for nesting We have this on our porch, sheltered from sun and wind. Since last year, we have had roosting every winter. This year we have a carolina wren. Previously we had a chickadee. The weave of grass is nice and tight. But the entrance hole is too low to give it depth for nesting. Unless the bird nests deep inside the roost box, its unlikely there will be nesting.
Fun with Roosting Pockets So cute. Pain to hang up, but I bought some cheap twine with it, and had some fun with the challenge of getting it up into a tall tree. Now it’s on a branch that swings heavily in the wind, so soon I’ll have more fun moving it. Still, love playing with bird things. Have had lots of luck getting, of all thing, bats to roost in these pockets, so maybe I’ll move it back to the ideal bat site in an outside facing corner, under the eave, facing South South East, unfortunately right by the sliding…
So pretty and functional So dainty and yet practical. Used a zip tie to attach to a sheltered tree branch & have seen some interest this season. Iâm interested in seeing how long it holds up to Florida weather
