Our Suet Feeders are made with: Solid “Red Grandis Eucalyptus Wood”. The Red Grandis Eucalyptus wood has a beautiful warm/reddish tone. The wood and copper wire will age naturally and the Eucalyptus wood will deepen in color due to the oils in the suet
Your feathered friends will LOVE feeding off this one-of-a-kind suet feeder. You can start using it the day you receive it, as it comes with an 8 oz tub of our home-made suet. Have fun filling this feeder up very often, as they will devour it quickly! Our Suet Recipe is a proprietary blend filled with yummy nutrients that the birds need and love. We are sure your backyard feathered friends will love it.
The birds are able to cling to the feeder while they eat, (we did leave some roughness to the wood) or they can use the perch if they choose. This is a 2-sided feeder, meaning the holes are on both sides. This suet feeder can accommodate any suet you can push into the holes. We have a hook on the bottom where you can hang your seed bucket.
****We recommend that you occasionally clean your feeder with mild soap and a soft brush. Murphy’s Oil Soap works great as it is all natural and will not harm the birds. If you are storing it away for a length of time, we do recommend that you clean it as described, and let it dry completely before storing. Applying an all natural oil after cleaning is recommended. Tung Oil, Linseed Oil, or any oils used for cutting boards or bowls will work great. We do apply a coating of an all natural oil for added protection.
****Feeding in the FALL and WINTER is best. We do NOT recommend feeding suet in warm weather.
