arrived as expected…. Took a can … arrived as expected…. Took a can of clear oil based clear paint… sprayed the whole thing to protect it from the weather, based on some of the previous reviews…
Beautiful! Beautiful wooden birdhouse. But does not seem ready to be put out into the element. I had read this in some other reviews and were prepared. We have sprayed it with a finish. Just be aware of this.
BIRDHOUSE DISAPPOINTMENT I purchased this birdhouse in May 2011 and put it on a large painted post in the backyard in mid-June. It appeared to be well constructed and the back portion of the wall pulls out/off to facilitate cleaning of old nest material. Six months later, the front exterior of the birdhouse still looks good, however, the back panel is totally falling apart due to moisture in the wood and is a moldy black mess.
