Don’t bother to buy, unless you just want a garden ornament Although it is pretty to look at, it has been out for two weeks now and the hummingbirds have never gone near it.We have another $5.00 plastic feeder next to it, that they line up to drink from.We have several feeders and flowers and we watch them each morning, as they make their rounds. It is a poor design, as the birds cannot get their beaks down far enough to get the sweet nectar.
Nope, doesn’t work. Beautiful but poor design. Nope, doesn’t work. Beautiful but poor design. No hummingbird has a beak that long. The flower stem is about 3 inches long, and it has to be if it is to reach the fluid. Also the weight of the flower cause the flower stem to tilt up and out of the fluid. And as the wind agitates the feed, the flower will simply fall off. It is held in only by gravity. Notice where the flowers attach, that is your upper limit of how much nectar you can put in. And its a little trick that you’re unlikely to get…
A functional piece of art for my yard. I’m not sure why 1 reviewer does not get birds to this feeder. They seem to love it at my house and have no trouble drinking from it (event he really small ones). I love the fact that it is 100% glass.
