  1. Stop looking for a pole – buy THIS ONE! Although my backyard is mostly woods, believe it or not I did not have any suitable branches to hand my bird feeders! These three sections are installed into an auger which screws into the ground with little effort. The only trouble was in installing the bottom corkscrew base into the ground. The corkscrew on the base is quite long and it requires you to screw it into the ground full depth before assembling the rest of the pole. I have dense clay soil in my yard and it was no easy task.
