Best book for backyard birding This book is set up very well (by main color, then size) and allows you to cross-reference birds easily. I like that it tells you birds that look similar, and what the main differences are so you learn to tell them apart. I had some trouble where I thought a bird was say, mostly brown, but it is listed under the grey, but since it only deals with birds in the area, it’s easy enough to flip through the whole book and still quickly identify a bird.
