  1. I love the design of this feeder- mostly I love the design of this feeder- mostly. I love that the top has a little moat that can be filled with water to deter ants. I love that the bottle is red. Red nectar is (disputably) harmful to the little birds and the red bottle is great- I can use my own clear nectar (1 cup sugar in 4 cups water) and still have the added bonus attractiveness of the extra red. I love that it’s so easy to clean. However, why I give it 4 stars- it leaks. I have 3 and all three leak. But- nectar should be changed…

  2. Great product; but you have to read the directions, and understand why they might leak It’s a great [inexpensive] product. I read the reviews, and found them helpful. A few folks felt the green cap was manufactured in error. However, the instructions state to remove the green “cap,” fill bottle with sugar and water, put the green cap back on, shake to dissolve, re-remove the green cap, and place the base directly on the bottle, saving the cap for future use.
