A Purpose-Built Optics Beltpack with Hands-Free Support. You’re out on a walk to watch birds or wildlife with the essentials: binoculars, field guide and a notebook. One thing is missing: a dedicated carrying solution. The Field Station, part of Lowepro’s Optics Series, is a purpose-built beltpack designed inside and out to offer comfort, hands-free support and convenient access to your gear. Inside, the Field Station includes inventive and practical features that make it easy to spot and identify species throughout the day. A patent-pending, pull-out QuickShelf platform provides a stable (and hands-free) base for a field guide, notebook or tablet-style computer. The padded binoculars compartment adjusts to fit a variety of models. Outside, the rain-flap lid opens away from the body so you can easily see and access gear. Thoughtful details like mesh-covered thick padding on the waist belt and load-adjusting compression wings and straps provide long-wearing comfort and support. Additional features include: multiple pockets, a quick-grab handle, built-in key clip and SlipLock attachment loops to expand carrying capacity.

Used for photography. I use it as a belt pack for my camera lenses and for my Asus tablet. It works just fine for my purpose, which I know is not what most would expect.I carry in it 4 m4/3 lenses: the macro 60mm, the Pro lenses 12-40mm and 40-150mm and one Samyang fish eye. I hold my camera and another lens in hand. All the accessories like batteries, filters, SD cards find a place somewhere in it. It is sturdy, reasonably weatherproof and most comfortable. What else to say.
this a great lumbar back Overall, this a great lumbar back. It is lightweight and very comfortable. The two reasons that I didn’t rate it 5 stars is: 1) if you have medium or full size binoculars then you don’t have much room for anything else. 2) I was hoping it was a little bigger. I removed some of the inside dividers and that seemed to give me a little more room
fits great, and I’ve got a belly fits great, and I’ve got a belly. Can hold 1 book, one large set on Bino’s: Pentax 20×50. Not much room for anything else except car keys & chap stick. Good construction, stays put, super convient to pop the book up and keep hands free.
