Squirrels ignore this feeder because they don’t like safflower seeds It is very well made, high quality materials. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it is difficult to open the top to fill it. That could be a positive because I am certain it can’t be open by accident. I don’t have to use a squirrel baffle since I fill it with safflower seeds. If you are in an area with squirrels, you probably will need to purchase one. Squirrels ignore this feeder because they don’t like safflower seeds. Would purchase it again.
Was hoping for something good. Ended up returning it as the hook that held the roof on would not latch after being opened and closed for refills after the first month. The filling is odd as you end up tipping half of the seed out. The space didn’t give the birds much room to sit and feed. The paint on the room was also chipping after the months use.
