This particular design attracts bluebirds and Tree Swallows. Air vents allow for maximum air ventilation through wall and floor openings. Clean-out doors provide easy access for cleaning. An elevated mesh floor aids in the management of blowfly; it’s crafted from durable, rust-free galvanized wire mesh. An added predator guard extends the entrance hole to protect young birds against predators. Two predator guards are included: one measures 1-1/2-inch for Eastern bluebirds, while the other measures 1-9/16-inch for Western bluebirds. An addition of fledgling skerfs provide extra grip for fledglings to climb out. The innovative design can be installed with a pole mount or flush mount. This is totally inadequate for tree swallows. Nature’s Way should know this and should point out it may “attract tree swallows but is not adequate for their nesting needs.” Instead it gives the impression it is a great house for them. Outstanding design… Way past good! A tremendous amount of thought went into the design of this bluebird house. It’s just so well thought-out. The only conceivable improvement that I can think of would be the addition of a copper entrance protector to keep squirrels from chewing on it. That said, I think this is definitely a “Best Buy.”
