Great feeder for finches This feeder works great for berry or peanut nuggets. Most any size bird can latch on and eat. I’ve had finches and woodpeckers.
You cannot kill these feeders I have had a feeder for maybe 6 years now and the thing will not die. Squirrels knock it to the ground. Raccoons try to drag it away. It looks beat up, it works perfectly. I finally bought a new one to use with the fruit balls. Birds love this thing. ALL kinds of birds. Not just the ones you would expect. Great feeder for the price.
Good for large seeds but maybe not for nuggets I’ve never used a nugget feeder before. I used “C&S peanut nuggets”, and the nuggets themselves are too big to fit through the wire. Birds peck at it and get some crumbs to fly out, and they eat those. I’ve had better luck putting sunflower or other seeds in it, but then half of them fall out during filling. I’m sure there’s something the right size for the mesh in this feeder, but I’m not sure what it is yet.
